Facts about kitesurfing

How it works

  • After flying, lay your kite down neatly and put some sand on it. Then it won't blow away.
  • First check that there are no sharp shells, sticks or stones. They can make a hole in the fabric.
  • Kite fabric has tiny squares of extra-strong threads. That's why a small hole won't tear any bigger straight away. But you still need to patch it, or it will grow.
  • You patch a small hole with special kite tape, best on both sides of the fabric.
  • Tape only sticks well to clean, dry fabric, without any sand.
  • A big tear needs fixing at a kite shop.
