Facts about kitesurfing

How it works

  • With the wind at your back, a kite can only fly in a big half-circle in front of you. That's called the wind window.
  • In the middle the kite pulls hardest. At the edges and right above your head it's calm. Kiters call that "twelve o'clock".
  • Steer with small movements, just like steering a bike.
  • With a strap round your wrist, the kite stays with you if you let go.
